Assignments
These assignments are my most creative works. They have all been completed for course work in my Bachelor of Education Program at the University of Ottawa, with the exception of The Lemon Tree and the Adobe Video (these projects were completed in high school, and are some of my most treasured and creative pieces). Please feel free to send me any comments or feedback you may have!

Backwards Design Sketchnote

Here is my first sketchnote explaining the process of Backwards Design. Backwards Design is all about planning for student success. All ideas (identifying learning goals, creating assessments, and evaluations) are dependent upon and determine student success.

My Favourite Book:

Journal Entry

My favourite childhood story, A Dragon in a Wagon, was used as the inspiration for my collage. This story is about travel and transportation; the different modes of transportation discussed in the story are illustrated in this collage.

Fun fact: the little girl in the story is named Megan!

Novel Study:

Journal Entry

Magic Tree House's Hour of the Olympics is the feature of this magazine. Included are activities based off of the novel that can be implemented and altered to suit any classroom.

'A Bad Case of Stripes':

Journal Entry

After reading David Shannon's A Bad Case of Stripes, I knew that this was the perfect script to use for my readers theatre assignment. The task was to find a readers theatre script suitable for primary grades and analyze its effectiveness and advantages on students' literacy learning. I chose to display my thoughts and information by way of an invitation, including a promotional poster, a brochure, a copy of the script, and an insert detailing why this script was chosen.

At the end of my grade 11 term for my Hospitality & Tourism course, my Culminating Performance Task (or CPT) was to create a restaurant that included one ingredient in each dish. A taste-test of a few recipes from my menu was also required. I created The Lemon Tree, a family-style restaurant. Included in this assignment was a menu (as well as a childrens menu), exterior designs, interior designs/considerations, and a floorplan.  When I look back on academic tasks and course work that I have completed, this assignment--albeit a high school one--is my absolute favourite. The original copy of my assignment was kept as an exemplar for future years!

The Lemon Tree: Culminating Performance Task

This was one of the assignments that I had the most fun working on. In my high school photography course, we had the opportunity to showcase our talents by way of bringing about a concept that was important to us. My team and I all felt passionate about creativity and imagination, and how these concepts are not utilized as often as they should be, especially among teenage students. My team and I used light photography as a way to convey our message.
